Meeting Notes September 10, 2014

The meeting was called to order by President Ken at 12:15pm. President elect Brandy introduced the visitors this week. They were as follows;

Announcements

 

Rob Saunders took a few minutes to let us know due to low ticket sales the parking for Muskoka Sound will only be at the Fairgrounds. The schedule will be flexible and Rob will notify members of all the required shift changes.

Barbara White (part of the membership committee) will be in charge of ensuring all new members have a Criminal Record check. Bob Gibson will submit criminal reference request on new members behalf. New members must fill out application(which Bob will post online) and give Bob photo ID to complete the application process online. Please contact Bob Gibson and/or Barbara White for more details.

Peter Redwood announced that the upcoming Annual Rotary Auction will be November 30th 2014.

Peter's challenged all Rotarian's to find new donors! Peter also reminded the membership that “he will find you!”

 

Helena Renwick wanted it announced that there will be a Car Show Saturday September 13th.

Ken almost forgot Ron Stricklands education bit.  There were so many giggles and jokes I actually didn't get the bit!  Next week Ron will have test us again to see who was paying attention!

The District Conference on September 18th, 2014 is also a leadership conference.

We had another wheel spin for not having a Rotary pin on at this weeks meeting.  Will's table let the cat out of the bag!

Gord Mitchell encouraged new Rotary Members to attend the District of Muskoka meeting which was held at the Rotary Train Station Thursday September 11th 2014 at 9:30am. Gord will let us know about the meeting on Wednesday September 17th 2014.

 

Happy Bucks (everyone's favourite part of the meeting!)

Rob Saunders will be heading to Italy to visit exchange student. He thanked Peter Redwood for creating a bowl for the exchange student he will be visiting there.

 

Mary Rashleigh announced that the Rotary club was full of great leaders and asked all Rotarian's who were former presidents to stand up.

 

Cam White announced that they would be welcoming a new adopted grandchild into there family. He will also be going to Hawaii for 9 weeks. Gord and April volunteered to cover his duties while he is away.

 

Bill Sibeon thanked Ken for the great meal on Wednesday's night meeting.

 

Will Gibson celebrated a birthday and had a golf game with Jim Hutton.

 

Jocelynn announced that the Table Soup Kitchen's food supplies are low and are in need of food donations.

Patti drew Jim Hutton's number and the pot is still up for grabs!
