Rotary DockFest Returns July 5!

HUNTSVILLE, ON - The Rotary Club of Huntsville and signature sponsor Pipefusion Services Inc./NyDock.com are pleased to present the 2nd annual Rotary DockFest. The event takes place Saturday, July 5, 2014, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. along Huntsville’s historic downtown waterfront.

In 2013 the Rotary Club of Huntsville resurrected the original Bathtub Derby from the 1990’s under the name Rotary DockFest.  Thousands of people attended the event in 2013 and a decision was made to turn Rotary DockFest into an annual event with proceeds alternating between local charities each year.

This year’s charity of choice is Top Hat House For Youth, a place of refuge and renewal for homeless high school students. Funds will also go towards funding for future improvements to River Mill Park, enhancing the waterfront for residents and visitors alike.

Join us for a pancake breakfast at River Mill Park beginning at 8 a.m. The parade of specially decorated bathtubs, marshaled by Olympic Gold Medalist Dara Howell, will begin making its way down the Main Street at 11 a.m.

The first of three heats begins at noon with bathtubs furiously racing through obstacles on the Muskoka River as they make their way to the finish line.

The event will have something for everyone, so bring your friends and the whole family. There will be a Rotary BBQ, beer tent, arts and crafts for the little ones as well as a bouncy castle and various other activities for kids. There will also be live music, creating the perfect atmosphere for a day of fun and excitement along Huntsville’s waterfront.
