Pres Debbie loves to use the BIG CHEQUE to give Rotary’s special project money to projects in our town and she said that she wanted to use it just one last time .....to give the Huntsville Lake of Bays Railway Society our support of $2,000.00 to help the society to re-fit their original engine that was in service when the shortest railway in the world was operating between Penn Lake and Portage on Lake of Bays between 1905 and 1959. David Topps briefly reviewed the why that they needed community support, to bring this engine back into service. The Society had hoped to do the work themselves but found that it needed more than they were able to do, so it will be transported by Muskoka Transport, through our good friend and Bracebridge Rotarian Paul Hammond to Blyth Railway Works for the re-fit in August.
