Waste Diversion in Muskoka

 

Quinn Michell was our speaker today talking about Recycling in Muskoka

We have a 2 stream system  Paper and Containers

Tips that we learned today

Paper includes Juice and Milk Cartons

Keep the lids on your coffee cups and jars so that they maintain their integrity

Containers include anything that has food or a beverage in it including food grade styrofoam (that meat gets sold with)

Wooden orange crates are a NO

Big styrofoam packaging is a NO

Ignore the recycling symbol on packaging

If in doubt go to muskokarecycles.ca and use the Waste Wizard

There is an APP for Muskoka Recycles   It will remind you when its Garbage day

Hazardous Waste   Drop it off at the Madill Works Yard on selected Wednesdays and Saturdays thru the year

Electronic waste (anything with a plug) Take it to Intyre Recycling in Huntsville's West end
