Adrian Musters, who needed no introduction, spoke on the completion of the Hunter’s Bay project. He was unable to access his slide show, so this will be shown at a later date. He said that Phase One has been completed. There were 3 aspects last year: - Restoration of the pavilion
- Barrier fencing was planted, and 80% of the plants and saplings have survived
- Plants in our new gardens are now growing, and we expect further growth next year.
Benches: 22 were installed on the Hunter’s Bay Trail, with plaques and they have great views. People are enjoying them. The Town of Huntsville was the largest donor, and we ended up with a profit, which was used to put a new steel roof on the pavilion. A grant was applied for from the Trans Canada Trail, and $ 7,000 was received, which will be used for further improvements. There are still 8 benches to be done, in 2022, on Fairy Vista Trail. Cam White’s project to sign the trail all across our district is underway; the signs have been ordered. Adrian thanked all who supported the project. Questions/Comments: Ken: Cost to sponsor a bench? All benches are sponsored now, but the final cost was $ 750.00. If the town will allow further benches on Fairy Vista Trail, Adrian will put Ken’s name on the list. Ron: January 25 is available for us to redo this presentation if Adrian’s computer will be working by then. President Mary thanked Adrian for all his work on this project.
