Stories
Dockfest 2024
Overall: The Event was a Huge Success! Everyone is Happy
Special Thank you: To the Planning Committee who worked very hard to make it possible.
PARADE: Went off without a hitch. It is certainly a great start to our Event! Great Work from Len, Cheryl and Connor plus all Volunteers
SPONSORSHIP:  Huge success with our new Sponsorship Plan. We exceeded all of our expectations by a long shot. We are making special efforts to Thank these people that paid substantial sums to support our event. We expect to have most of them back next year.
PIT REPORT: Adrian sent in a report. Very positive. Suggested that we buy carburetor kits for all the motors plus a few gas caps.  Motors will be stored properly in Adrian Muster’s Garage .

Bathtubs: We are proposing to Rebuild and Repair all of the bathtub Pontoons as they are showing their age and have some cracks etc. This work can be done by Rotarians sometime by the end of September. Rob and Paul to organize

RAFFLE: Money raised from Tickets sold was $2500 Net. Ticket printing cost $600 plus other fees. The group was questioning whether the Raffle was worth the effort. Perhaps a 50/50 Draw might be just as successful without the costs ?

FACILITY: Thanks to Bob Gibb and his organizational skills plus his contacts, the set up at RiverMill Park went very smoothly. He had enough Volunteers and a good group at the end to take tubs away and clean up

VOLUNTEERS: Huge Thank you to Paul and Rose Evans for finding, organizing and delegating our large Volunteer group. They scheduled the various Volunteers to show up at certain times to complete their tasks. Food and water was provided for all Volunteers. Great Job!

COURSE/ DAY OF: New Course Obstacles were awesome and we will have these for many years , thanks to NyDock and all their contributions.
Graydon Smith MPP BBQ
