President Mary and President-Elect Jennifer met with Phyllis Ingram and Marilyn Hansen from our District, along with Jennifer Jerrett of the Satellite Club for discussions on the Satellite Club becoming a full-fledged Rotary Club. Procedures are being carried out to bring this into being, such as papers being signed, by-laws written up and a bank account being opened. The district has suggested that the three clubs in Huntsville have one common website, with all clubs working together.
There is a meeting of the Satellite Club on March 10 at 5:30 at Canvas Brewery. Members of this club are welcome to attend.
President-elect Jennifer: Update on Ukraine Relief: This club through the World Community Service Committee has donated $ 1,000, plus individual donations and $ 500.00 from the Satellite Club, for a total of approximately $ 2,500.00 to go towards shelter boxes. It is not determined the amount required for one shelter box, but hopefully we will have enough funds for 2 or 3 shelter boxes. Gord hoped we could do more. Ross felt that the larger Shelter Boxes cost about $ 1,500.00. Adrian said that both the Red Cross and the Canadian-Ukraine Society were accepting donations.
