Dear Rotary Family,
I have been overwhelmed with all the well wishes and generosity of each and everyone of you.  I was so shocked with my diagnosis of pancreas stage 1 cancer.  I was extremely lucky in so many ways.  For the first time in my life I feel supported, valued and cared about.  Thank you doesn't seem enough to say,  I mean what do you say or do to appeciate such kindness.  Dr. SMALL won't let me visit you at the lunch meeting.  My immune system (white blood cells) are creeping down this week.  I will have to take it easier which if you know me is very difficult.  My dad moved in with me so I can sleep when I can.  My girls feel safer with his presence in our home.

I would like to thank everyone for their discretion.  I need warning if you want to pop over for visits.  I am not always dressed for company and my dog gets too excited and those of you who know Max can imagine the mess I have to clean up if I don't contain or prepare him. LOL I can still have visitors because Katy  (the girl that motivates me weekly and showed me what true friendship looks like) gave me hand sanitizers for my entrances.  If you have a cold or bug please don't come by.  I return calls and text usually the same day.  My info is updated on the club runner app.

In all seriousness cancer is hard and scary.  Cancer doesn't just affect the person who has it.  I have learned it affects all those who love that person.  Basically, what I am trying to say is thank you for loving me and my family!  My life has been blessed by each Rotarian in our club.  Only 3.5 months left and I will amoung the 20% who beat pancreas cancer.
Yours graciously in Rotary, hope to see you soon.
