The Membership committee (Cameron White Lou Luvison Tim Lutton Suzi Jarvis and Kim O'Grady) made an excellent presentation at our August 8 meeting. Rotary has 1,202,936 members in approximately 36,000 clubs for an average of 33 members per club with the most common size of 20 Asia is the highest growth area Rotary International consists of 80% males with Huntsville at 61% largest age bracket is 50-69 at 27% of membership Last year 150,000 members left 12% of those with service under a year WHY? Too expensive Too much time commitment Club environment not satisfactory Expectations not met No meaningful participation offered Our club goals 50 members by June 30 2019 today we have 46 active members Challenge you to invite at least one person to a meeting over the course of the year Promote Rotary at every opportunity NEW Coffee Talk program 2 committee members will meet with 2 members to have an open discussion about issues of concern with a goal to meet with everyone over the next 6 months Looking for trends suggestions and feedback that we can act on to improve our club. Other plans Pot Luck mixer in the Fall bring a prospective member Date to be confirmed Business after Hours meeting in April 2019 Family Day program organised by the Membership committee |
